22 November 2021 - 27 November 2021
The Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute (BUEI) is proud to announce the Island’s first ever Youth Climate Summit. During a full week in November, young people ages 13-22 will focus on climate issues culminating in a year-long, action-based volunteer project managed by a Youth Climate Advisory Board.
The week will include:
- Four days of online interactive learning, designed to foster a common understanding of climate issues
- Two days onsite at BUEI to engage with Bermuda-based environmental groups and then map out a course of action to collectively address an issue of their choosing.
By providing young people with background information, the opportunity for group deliberation, and access to a resource panel of experts, the Youth Climate Summit offers a unique opportunity for participants to work together, develop informed opinions, and create action plans in support of local efforts to address climate related issues.
The creation of a Youth Climate Advisory Board and its resulting action plans will represent attendee’s collective commitment to support and partner with local environmental groups to address critical issues.
Registration opens October 15.
