Help Chart Future Course For ‘International Business is Everybody’s Business’ Campaign
Hamilton, Bermuda, September 13, 2022 — Since 2013, the Bermuda Business Development Agency (BDA), in partnership with the Association of Bermuda International Companies (ABIC) and Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurers (ABIR), have run an ‘international business is everybody’s business’ publicawareness campaign.
As the BDA, ABIC, ABIR and Bermuda International Long-Term Insurers and Reinsurers (BILTIR) embark upon 2022 campaign, we need to hear from the public to ensure that our objectives remain fit for purpose.
Richard Winchell, ABIC’s Executive Director said, “The objective of the ‘everybody’s business’ campaign is to inform on the value and importance of international business to the Bermuda economy and to every Bermudian, for example, that international business provides careers for Bermudians and consistently contributes over one quarter of Bermuda’s total Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The programme provides information and perspectives on the wide-range and critically important benefits of the international business sector – to the island’s overall economy, to job creation and the quality of life for residents. Campaign outreach is through radio shows, digital ads, social media, print advertising, as well as (pre-covid) in-person visits to public schools.”
David Hart, BDA CEO said, “The purpose of the BDA is to promote and protect, in collaboration with government and the private sector, sustainable and equitable economic growth and prosperity in Bermuda. Our contributions to the annual ‘everybody’s business’ campaign is one way that we do this, but since the last survey was conducted back in 2015, we need updated data to gauge how various sections of the community now feel about international business, and how to best focus our ‘everybody’s business’ resources moving forward. We need your help to ensure the ‘everybody’s business’ campaign is of maximum benefit to Bermuda.”
