Tourism Investment Amendment Act 2019

The Act came into effect on 5 November 2019, encouraging investment in Bermuda by allowing relevant hotel developers to apply for a tourism investment order, providing relief from customs duty and exemption from certain other taxes, for specific hotel developments. The Act reflects the BDA’s role as the organisation that supports Tourism Investment Act applications and works with the minister to approve hotel appraisers, who determine the market value of hotels for the purposes of the Act.
